Jupiter Image 2016/09/01(UT)

Another afternoon with clouds, but I was lucky enough to find one clear
patch in reasonable seeing for long enough to capture this image. You
can see only large scale structures - the GRS is prominent at lower
centre, with some signs that the wake behind it continues to be
turbulent. The sharp-eyed might just see the dark spot that is Callisto
in transit at top left near the north pole.
Jupiter is 19 degrees from the sun today. If we can get an afternoon
without clouds interfering then it's still possible for good images.
